These days massage isn't just for feeling good anymore, it is a holistic therapy that reduces the heart rate, lowers blood pressure, increases blood circulation and lymph flow, relaxes muscles, improves range of motion and increases endorphins, the body's natural painkillers. Therapeutic massage enhances medical treatment and helps people feel less anxious and stressed, yet more alert.
Relaxation/Swedish Massage:
- A smooth, flowing style that promotes general relaxation, improves circulation, range of movement and relieves muscular tension. Cost $65 - 1 Hr and 30 mins (Full Body) / Cost $35 - 45 mins (half body)
Deep Tissue:
- Deep tissue is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more focused type of massage, as I work to release chronic muscle tension or knots. Cost $65 - 1 hr and 30 mins (Full Body) / Cost $35 - 45 mins (Half Body)
Reflexology:
- Using thumb and finger pressure on the reflex points of the feet (which correspond to all areas of the body) to assist in achieving balance within the body. Cost $35 - 45 mins
Indian Head Massage:
This technique uses controlled movements and has a strong effect on the three higher chakras - the mind, body and spirit. The Chakra is the energy vortex that we need to remain striving because the massage works on the head, neck and shoulders, tension is relieved almost instantly. Cost $25 - 30 mins
Chakra Healing:
Balancing your chakras improves your health and wellbeing, physically, mentally and emotionally. Anyone can learn how to do this and experience a long-lasting feeling of well-being every day of their lives.
Chakras are wheels of light located all over our body. We have thousands of them in our body but the seven major ones are located along our spine from its base to the crown of the head. Each chakra is represented by a colour of the rainbow - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
•Crown Chakra - Top of Head - Violet
•Third Eye/Brow Chakra - Above & between eyebrows - Indigo
•Throat Chakra - Base of throat - Blue
•Heart Chakra - Centre of chest - Green
•Solar Plexus Chakra - Just above navel - Yellow
•Sacral Chakra - Just below navel - Orange
•Root/Base Chakra - Base of spine - Red
Each chakra is associated with different body parts, emotions and life areas, so in balancing each chakra, you will be giving energy and help to any issues or problems you have. There are too many areas to discuss in one article, but very general associations are shown below:
